Understanding the Food Pyramid (Balanced Nutrition) - Referred to the dictionary Indonesian Nutrition is a staple food that is necessary for the growth and health of the body. Nutrient intake or Adequate nutrition is important in maintaining a healthy body in order to live a more productive and protected from various diseases. It says "Enough nutrition" because the intake should not be less than or exceed the needs of our body needs. Malnutrition will cause the body more susceptible to disease due to falling endurance while excessive nutrient intake will lead to risk involvement of the disease such as high blood pressure, heart attack, stroke and diabetes. Therefore, there needs to be a balance in consuming Nutrition which is usually referred to as visualized Balanced Nutrition Pyramid shape.



Understanding the Food Pyramid (Balanced Nutrition)
Balanced nutrition are usually described by the Food Pyramid is the arrangement of shapes everyday foods that contain nutrients in the type and amount according to the needs of the body, with due regard to the principle of diversity or variety of food, physical activity, hygiene and ideal weight.

Levels in the Food Pyramid
Food Pyramid Indonesian version consists of 5 levels of food and beverages according to the needs of the human body as well as the first level of the foundation of healthy living such as regular exercise and maintaining an ideal body weight. First level
First level or basic level is the healthy food pyramid is to maintain ideal body weight and regular exercise. Both of these elements affect the quality of our common life. One reason for the importance of sports is to use a simple rule like this:

"Changes in Body Weight Calories coming together with reduced calories out"

By exercising you can burn calories we consume and keep your body is in an ideal body weight. Eat more than you burn will lead to weight gain and fat causing diseases associated with overweight is.
Second level
Water held up a very important role in the human body. In the human body, water serves as forming cells and body fluids, regulating body temperature, solvent other nutrients and as an aide in the digestion process. In one day, our bodies need 8 glasses of water, equivalent to 2 liters of water.
 
Third level
The third level is the foods that are high carbohydrate sources such as rice, potatoes, bread, biscuits, corn and yam. These foods are usually referred to as staple foods usually consumed 3 to 8 servings a day.

Fourth level
The fourth level of the Food Pyramid is vegetables and fruits are a source of fiber, vitamins and minerals. Vegetables should be consumed 3 to 5 servings of fruits while can be consumed 2 to 3 servings a day.
 
Fifth level
The fifth level is the foods that are good sources of protein, vegetable protein and animal protein. Vegetable protein is a protein derived from plants such as beans and processed foods (tempeh, tofu). While Animal Protein is a protein derived from animals such as beef, fish, chicken, eggs and dairy products. Protein foods (plant and animal) should be consumed 2 to 3 servings per day.

Highest level (Peak)
Highest level or peak positions are foods that level of consumption should be limited. This is because the level of need will need these foods are very low. These foods include salt, sugar and oil.
